STARTS 12/5: 4-Week Beginner Handbuilding Course with Sam - 5:30 to 7:30pm

Have fun while learning the basics of making handbuilt, decorate and functional pottery. While this class is perfect for all skill levels, it is designed for those 18+ with little to no experience. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian who must also enroll in the course.

 

In 4 sessions, we'll review:

• Various handbuilding techniques: slab, coil, pinch
• Handbuilding tips + tricks
• Decorating techniques
• Glazing

Registration for this course includes:

• 25lb bag of stoneware clay of your choice (additional clay available for purchase)
• Open studio access throughout the course duration
• Use of community tools (full beginner toolkits available for purchase)
• Glaze costs + firing fees for pieces created during class time

 

In preparation for this class, please:

• Bring an apron or wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty/staining (aprons available for sale at studio)
• Ensure you wear short sleeves or sleeves that can easily tuck back and not get in the way
• Tie back long hair so that it does not get caught on clay or tools

 

Finished pieces will be available for pick up during Open Hours 2 weeks from the last class and will be held for 2 weeks. Abandoned works will be discarded due to limited storage space. Thanks for understanding!

Open Hours:

• Thursday: 1pm - 6pm
• Friday - Sunday: 10am - 6pm

 

All students must sign a Waiver/ Code of Conduct Agreement before the start of class.

We require at least 2 students to run a class; refunds will be issued if we must cancel due to low registration.

 

Registration fees (minus service charges) are 100% refundable if registration is canceled 10 days ahead of class start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th, one must cancel no later than the 5th to receive 100% refund.

 

50% refund (minus service charges) if canceled 5 days ahead of class start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th, one must cancel no later than the 10th to receive 50% refund.

 

Non-refundable within 5 days of class, however, registration is transferable once to another person prior to class start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th and it's now the 12th and you can no longer attend, you may transfer your registration to another person. Please email the Studio Manager to coordinate.
