STARTS 11/5: 4-Week Throwing Bigger with Juan - 10am to 12pm

Learn to take your vessels to another level in Juan's Throwing Big class! This class is designed for those 18+ with wheel throwing experience. Individuals under 18 require a guardian present who must also enroll in the class.

 

In 4 sessions, we'll review:

• Wedging techniques to prep larger amounts of clay for throwing
• Various techniques for centering larger amounts of clay
• Proper body mechanics for throwing larger pieces
• Trimming + glazing large forms

Registration for this course includes:

• 25lb bag of stoneware clay of your choice (additional clay available for purchase)
• 24/7 studio access throughout the course duration
• Use of community tools + accessories during class sessions only (personal toolkits  available for purchase at studio)
• Glaze costs + firing fees for pieces crafted during class sessions only

 

In preparation for this class, please:

• Bring an apron or wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty / stained
• Ensure you wear short sleeves or sleeves that can easily tuck back and not get in the way
• Tie back long hair so that it does not get caught on clay or the wheel

 

Finished pieces will be available for pick up during Open Hours 2 weeks from the last class and will be held for 2 weeks. Abandoned works will be discarded due to limited storage space. Thanks for understanding!

Open Hours:

• Thursday: 1 - 6pm
• Friday - Sunday: 10am - 6pm

 

All new students must sign a Code of Conduct Agreement / Waiver before the start of class.

We require at least 2 students to run a class; refunds will be issued if we must cancel due to low registration.

 

Registration fees (minus service charges) are 100% refundable if registration is canceled 10 days ahead of class start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th, one must cancel no later than the 5th to receive 100% refund.

 

50% refund (minus service charges) if canceled 5 days ahead of class start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th, one must cancel no later than the 10th to receive 50% refund.

 

Non-refundable within 5 days of class, however, registration is transferable once to another person or another class prior to class start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th and it's now the 12th and you can no longer attend, you may transfer your registration to another person. Please email the Studio Manager to coordinate.
