STARTS 4/1: 4-Week Wheel Practice with Carmen - 5:30 to 7:30pm

Need additional guidance on wheel skills? Looking for tips to refine your throwing skills? Or maybe it's been a while since you've thrown on the wheel and need a refresher. If so, then this class is for you!

 

This class is designed for those 18+ with some wheelthrowing experience. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian who must also enroll in the course.

 

Unlike our traditional 4-week beginner courses, these sessions are spent mostly throwing on the wheel so that you focus on improving + refining your throwing skills. We will spend all 4 weeks throwing on the wheel with the option to trim instead of throw on the last week.

Registration for this course includes:

• 25lbs of stoneware clay (selection varies)
• Studio access during Open Hours
  • Open Hours:
    • Thursday: 1 - 6pm
    • Friday - Monday: 10am - 6pm
• Use of community bats + tools during class sessions
  • Tools + bats available for purchase to use outside of class sessions
• Glaze + firing fees for up to 5 pieces
  • Additional work will be charged by the cubic inch

 

In preparation for this class, please:

• Bring an apron or wear clothes that you don't mind staining / getting dirty
• Ensure you wear short sleeves or sleeves that can easily tuck back and not get in the way
• Tie back long hair so that it does not get caught on clay or the wheel

 

Finished pieces will be available for pick up during Open Hours 3-4 weeks from the last class and will be held for 2 weeks. Abandoned works will be discarded due to limited storage space. Thanks for understanding!

Open Hours:

• Thursday: 1 - 6pm
• Friday - Monday: 10am - 6pm

 

All new students must sign a Code of Conduct Agreement / Waiver before the start of class.

We require at least 2 students to run a class; refunds will be issued if we must cancel due to low registration.

 

Unfortunately, we cannot provide make-up sessions for missed classes.

 

Registration fees (minus service charges) are 100% refundable if registration is canceled 10 days ahead of class start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th, one must cancel no later than the 5th to receive 100% refund.

 

50% refund (minus service charges) if canceled 5 days ahead of class start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th, one must cancel no later than the 10th to receive 50% refund.

 

Non-refundable within 5 days of class, however, registration is transferable once to another person or future class prior to class start date. Future class must start within 30 days of original start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th and it's now the 12th and you can no longer attend, you may transfer your registration to another person or another class. Please email the Studio Manager (info@ashlandclayhouse.com) to coordinate.
